"My pump was screaming and the company before wanted to sell me a whole new unit. Rapid replaced the bearings and seal for a fraction of the price and it's been dead quiet since."
Pool Pump & Equipment Repair in Johannesburg & Gauteng
Quiet, powerful water flow starts at the pump house. When yours screeches, leaks or simply stops, our technicians diagnose it fast and fix it right, covering pumps, filters, chlorinators and timers across Sandton, Randburg, Midrand, Roodepoort and the wider Gauteng region.
Pump trouble? We get to the root of it
The pump is the heart of every swimming pool, when it falters, the water stops moving, the chemistry drifts and a clear pool can turn green within days. Our pool pump repair specialists strip the guesswork out of the job: we test the motor, the seals and the electrics, pinpoint exactly what has failed, and tell you straight whether a quick fix or a replacement is the better spend.
From a worn mechanical seal to a tripping motor or a filter that won't hold pressure, we carry the common parts on the van and get most repairs sorted in a single visit, so your pool isn't left standing for days. For wider plumbing and structural faults we also handle full pool repairs, and our vans are out daily across Sandton and Johannesburg.
- Same-day diagnosis wherever possible, most faults found on the first visit.
- Common parts on the van, seals, capacitors and bearings fitted on the spot.
- Honest repair-vs-replace advice with both prices laid out clearly.
- All major brands serviced, pumps, filters, chlorinators and timers.

From a worn seal to a full upgrade
Our team works across every part of the pump house. On the motor side we replace mechanical seals, bearings, impellers and capacitors, and rebuild or swap motors that have burnt out. On the filtration side we re-pack sand and glass-media filters, replace cracked laterals, service cartridge elements and overhaul leaking multiport valves so your backwash works the way it should.
We also keep your sanitiser running, repairing and replacing chlorinator cells, salt cells and control boards, and sort out faulty timers and automation so your pool runs on schedule again. Where an old single-speed pump is on its last legs, we'll show you the running-cost case for a quieter, energy-efficient variable-speed upgrade. If you're adding a heat pump or solar setup, our pool heating team can size and plumb it into the same system.
Pump making a horrible noise or tripping the DB board? Switch it off at the isolator and give us a call, running a failing motor can burn it out completely and turn an affordable repair into a replacement.

Honest advice
We never push a new pump when a seal will do. You get both costs and our genuine recommendation.
Lower running costs
Ask about a variable-speed upgrade, it can cut your pump's electricity use dramatically.
Clear quoting
You see the price before we start, no surprise callout fees and no parts you didn't approve.
Quality parts
We fit proper, fit-for-purpose components, not the cheapest off-brand part that fails again in a month.
Whole-system view
We check the rest of the pump house too, so one weak link doesn't drag the next part down with it.

Your pump repair questions, answered
Should I repair or replace my pool pump?
If your pump is under about eight years old and the fault is a seal, bearing, capacitor or impeller, a repair is almost always the cheaper, smarter choice. Once a motor is burnt out or the housing is cracked on an older unit, replacement makes more sense. We give you both costs upfront and tell you honestly which way we'd go.
What are the signs of a failing pool pump?
Watch for a screeching or grinding noise, weak water flow, a pump that trips the power, leaks around the seal, or a motor that overheats and cuts out. Air bubbles in the weir and a pump that won't prime are also common warning signs that something needs attention.
How much does pump repair or replacement cost?
It depends on the fault and the pump. A seal or capacitor repair is far cheaper than a full motor rebuild or a new pump. We diagnose the issue first, then send a clear written quote with no surprise callout fees so you can decide with all the numbers in front of you.
Are energy-efficient pool pumps worth it?
Yes. A variable-speed pump can use up to 70% less electricity than an older single-speed pump by running slower for longer. With Gauteng tariffs the way they are, the upgrade often pays for itself within a couple of seasons, and runs much quieter too.
Do you repair all pump and equipment brands?
We work on all the major brands found in South African pools, including Speck, Earth, Quality, Hayward and Pentair, across pumps, sand and cartridge filters, chlorinators, salt cells, timers and automation systems.
Which areas do you cover?
Johannesburg, Sandton, Randburg, Midrand, Roodepoort and surrounding suburbs, plus the East Rand and Pretoria region. See all service areas.
